Dr. Amber L. Mahan
Dr. Amber Mahan is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychological evaluations for adult and geriatric patients. She has extensive experience with a variety of neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia, mild cognitive impairment, movement disorders, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and more.
Dr. Mahan earned her Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology with academic distinction from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has completed specialized training in Neuropsychology, including a two-year APPIC-accredited postdoctoral residency. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed at Geisinger Medical Center in Clinical Neuropsychology, an APA-accredited program, where she trained in outpatient neuropsychological evaluations, multidisciplinary dementia clinic evaluations, and inpatient rehabilitation at Encompass Health in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Mahan also previously trained at the UCLA Longevity Center in geriatric neuropsychology and cognitive rehabilitation and served as a memory trainer in the UCLA Memory Care program. Additionally, she completed further specialized training within outpatient neuropsychology private practice settings and worked as a psychometrician in neuropsychology for adult and geriatric patients in both private practice and neurology settings for several years.
Dr. Mahan is highly passionate about neuropsychology and is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients. She values working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and aims to make every patient feel welcomed and understood. Dr. Mahan plans to obtain board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology.
